For all multiple screen installations where content has to be updated frequently and in most cases remotely, a specialised PC is required as part of the installation and this has traditionally been a desktop PC. This is no longer the case with embedded computers becoming much smaller, with some small enough to fit in your hand allowing for easier integration behind large format monitors.
Avnet Embedded has partnered with AOpen, a company renowned for its Digital Engine PCs approved by various signage software providers such as Scala, SignageLive and others.
The range caters for most needs, from entry level signage with Intel® Atom™ CPUs, through to the high end with Core™ 2 Duo processors and Nvidia graphics chipsets to handle full HD content and animations.
