Once you have decided on the best Windows Embedded operating system, the next step is to purchase the full development kit (applicable to Windows Embedded Standard, XP Embedded and CE) or the OEM Pre-Installation Kit (OPK) which are the master set of CD's needed to build the image. For projects requiring an OPK, the OEM needs to have in place a completed and approved Microsoft Customer License Agreement (CLA).

CLA - every OEM deploying an embedded image needs to have a valid CLA in place before runtime licenses can be purchased. Obtaining a CLA through Avnet Embedded is free and we facilitate the process on your behalf. The process from completing a CLA to receiving approval is about 2 weeks.

Download both of the documents above, then complete part 1 sign and send to the relevant address below.

Part 2 should be retained by yourself for reference.

You receive an email from Microsoft when the CLA is approved, the original will follow by post. From approval date the CLA is valid for 2 years, after that you will need to complete another CLA in order to continue purchasing licences.
